Hi. I’m Bill.

I’m a product designer, UX leader, & user-centric business leader.

I’m a hands-on Product Design leader with 15 years of global design leadership and team-building experience in the consulting, agency, and product realms. I am based in Chicago but work globally with worldwide teams.

Focused on creating user empathy to solve business problems, as a design leader and designer, I love culture building, strategy, and mentorship. I bring real-world experience in building design teams, translating how meaningful design impacts business and helping non-technical people understand how design can impact their work.

I have successfully built small and large design teams for numerous organizations and provided strong leadership to achieve common goals, with a 2% employee attrition rate over 4 years, by building a strong design culture.

I have global design leadership experience in North America, South America, Europe, and APAC, including offshore design studios for companies like Accenture, Salesforce, and Autodesk, among others.

I’m not just a design executive, as I have successfully led multiple $1M+ engagements from sales to delivery, utilizing a design-thinking-led design/development process that led to an average of 50% increase in CSAT scores, with a strong focus on creative problem-solving and a good eye for patterns in research data.

I have worked with numerous development frameworks in my career spanning over 15 years, from waterfall, to agile to lean ux.

I can sell design services as well. In consulting, I have led design sales efforts in numerous roles, including:

  • Avanade/Accenture, where I grew revenue from $0 to $125M in assisted revenue, in less than 4 years, including 12 quarters of profitability.

  • Salesforce, where I grew design sales from a couple hundred thousand to $12M in revenue.

I also serve on corporate boards. I am the board chairman of the American Dental Association’s business entity(ADABEI). During my tenure, ADABEI has seen record revenue growth, even through COVID, and increased member satisfaction.
